Jonas Vidar´s computer-generated drawing "Portrait of Iceland no: 0000027" depicts a famous mountain in southern Iceland, Hekla giving a pixelated qualiti to the counttry´s natural landscape. For the artist this sort of abbreviated version of nature essentiatees its majesty. "A mountainous and generally barren wilderness, the highland landscape provides strong, clear forms and great distances. Yet in their bare simplicity these forms are awe-inspiring and majestic," said Mr. Vidar. "It is this expressive force that I seek to retain, even as I reduce the landscape to its simplest formal elements"
